About us

The Jazzserver aims to promote the internationalization of jazz and improvised music by providing a free platform for jazz musicians, venues and festivals to exchange information. In July 2006 the Jazzserver has undergone a major redesign which has provided a clean new look and improved usability. The Jazzserver's clear layout and advanced search capabilities enable jazz professionals and -fans alike to easily avail themselves of this information. In addition The Jazzserver offers visitors several options to explore this excitingly diverse field of music.

The Jazzserver is built in such a way that artists, venues and festivals can create their own free webpage and add or edit their own content. After registration you can start building your own page in a few simple (guided) steps.If you would like to learn more about the features of the Jazzserver or if you need support please refer to help section in the side menu. About us
The Jazzserver is maintained by De Jazzorganisatie (The Jazz Organisation), a Dutch non-profit organisation that aims to support jazz and improvised music in The Netherlands. Another notable activity of The Jazz Organisation is the annual presentation of the De VPRO/Boy Edgar Prize, Netherlands most prestigious jazz award.

Special thanks are owed to Muziek en Theater Netwerk for initiating the Jazzserver, to Stefan Berreth for his contribution to the early stages of the design and for writing a lot of the initial Dutch artists biographies.

Music samples
The Jazzserver has entered into an agreement with BUMA/STEMRA, permitting the use of samples on this site. These samples may be listened to or downloaded for personal use; however, any further distribution of these samples is strictly prohibited.
