Amsterdam Jazz Trio
A beautiful trio of guitar, acoustic bass and fluegelhorn formed in 2001. They released two albums so far: "The Night And The Daydreamer" on Challenge Records and "For The Time Being" on EWM Records.
Angelo Verploegen on fluegelhorn, Ed Verhoeff on acoustic and electric guitar and Eric van der Westen on double bass form The Amsterdam Jazz Trio. Previously known by Verploegen, Verhoeff & van der Westen the trio changed their name after their Japanese manager claimed it was almost impossible to pronounce the name properly for none dutchies.....
The group has an open intimate sound with deep and clear original compositions and the occasional addition from the Great American Songbook. They played all the major stages and festivals in Holland and toured Japan in 2004. Currently preparing a project with woodwinds in 2008.
