Estrella's Guajira - Cuban Country Songs
An enthusiastic bunch of (mostly) Cubans that do what they like best: play the music they grew up with, as heard through today's ears, with plenty of space for creative soloing.
The group's cd, Alma Guajira - Cuban country songs, was nominated for an Edison award, the Dutch equivalent of the Grammys.
Estrella's band tours the USA and Canada in September 2007. Earlier activities include a TV performance for VPRO's Vrije Geluiden (see our website!) and a very successful concert at the North Sea Jazz Festival 2005. August 2006 the group was the main attraction at the Dias Latinos Festival in Amersfoort.
