Loet van der Lee Quartet

The Loet van der Lee Quartet was founded in 1991. Through the years they released 4 cd's.

In 1996 their critically acclaimed debut cd 'Going Walkabout' was released.

In 1999 they released their second cd 'Both Sides' in coöperation with A-Records/Challenge at Arnhem. On 'Both Sides' he presents a true All Star line-up with internationally renowned musicians such as Dutch guitarist Jesse van Ruller, Dutch singer Fee Claassen, the new Dutch drum sensation Martijn Vink, and stellar Australian saxist Dale Barlow.

In the year 2000 Loet van der Lee released, as a part of the 10 year's existing celebration of the band, the CD 'The Adderley Project'. This is a tribute to the late cornet player and composer Nat Adderley, featuring Martin Wind (Germany) on bass, Benjamin Herman on altosaxophon, Rob van Bavel on Fender Rhodes and piano, Mimi Verderame (Belgium) on drums and Loet van der Lee on trumpet/flugelhorn.

In 2003 the CD :Holland in Jazz, ode to the twelve provinces was released. Jazz' is a present-day ode in jazz, photography and language to the 'forgotten' beauty of the Netherlands and its twelve provinces. It contains 12 brand new compositions from 12 Dutch Jazz Composers. The band was invited to play this extra ordinary program at the North Sea Jazz Festival 2003.


Through the years the individual members and the band as a whole have musically grown. An own specific style and sound has developed. The band sounds solid and energetic.
