...E-bop? The jazz connoisseur scratches his head…never heard of it… Yet, SteamTeam from the Netherlands made it their specialty, and this cd proves it once again! Soulful jazz full of risk, joy of playing and spectacular solos. In short: Earnest, Expressive, Energetic and Explosive music. The five SteamTeam members have won their spurs in the Dutch jazz scene, and in more than two decades of E-bopping they have become a tight gang of friends, always motivated by the musical flow of this unique ensemble. The name ‘SteamTeam’ does not really sound environmentally friendly and evokes a very different image than twenty years ago, but musing together about this dilemma they discovered that this could be the right source of inspiration for the compositions on this album. With this they added a new E to the E-bop spectrum, because this cd is even Ecologically sound! Durable improvised music in which the SteamTeam makes Exciting connections between hardbop, lyrical jazz, ballads and the threatening climate problems. The team hopes that you will thoroughly enjoy the music, but at the same time hopes that you will also think in the back of your mind about what we can do about: ‘Global Heating’!
