From brass bands to big bands, from trad jazz to free improvising, from symphonies to salsa: Paul Taylor's musical journeys have taken him across Europe to Africa, and from the USA to Japan. This rich experience is distilled into a trunkful of poetry, bounced along in a free-wheeling performance of classic standards, original pieces, and spontaneous compositions.
A veteran of Ronnie Scott's, The Jazz Café, the Vortex Jazz Club, the 606 Club and the Royal Festival Hall, Paul Taylor has also been a dedicated player on the Latin music scene, working worldwide with Columbian maestro Roberto Pla's Latin Ensemble, and with Snowboy & The Latin Section. Before that, he toured Europe and the USA with the legendary soul/rock band, The Bureau, recently re-formed for WEA's re-issue of the band's "lost album".
In amongst all this he has toured with Chris McGregor's Brotherhood of Breath, recorded with The Pogues, feaured with Roland Perrin's Blue Planet Orchestra and created The Blowpipes, a pioneering trombone trio.
