Conservatorium van Amsterdam
De afdeling Jazz van het Conservatorium van Amsterdam verzorgt een van de belangrijkste jazzopleidingen in Europa en wordt internationaal hoog gewaardeerd. Aan bod komen zowel Braziliaans en Afro-Cubaanse muziek als R&B, soul, funk, fusion en cross-over. Regelmatig worden gasten van internationale faam uitgenodigd voor het geven van clinics, workshops, masterclasses en individuele lessen. Studenten geven concerten, zowel in The Amsterdam Blue Note van het conservatorium, als op jazzpodia elders in Amsterdam en daarbuiten.
In april 2008 is het Conservatorium van Amsterdam verhuist naar een nieuw gebouw op het Oosterdokseiland.

Summer Jazz Workshop 2008
You now have the opportunity to study jazz in an outstanding international musical atmosphere. For the seventh time in row the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and the Manhattan School of Music organize the successful Summer Jazz Workshop. The international workshop will take place from 7 – 11 July 2008 in Amsterdam. The workshop will be open to jazz musicians (instrumentalists as well as vocalists) from all over the world. Participating in the Summer Jazz Workshop means one week of lessons, workshops, masterclasses, lectures, concerts, lots of chances to play and jam with fellow jazz musicians from all over the world. Lessons, workshops and masterclasses will be given by Garry Dial (piano), Cecil Bridgewater (trumpet), Dick Oatts (saxophone) and faculty members of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. The Summer Jazz Workshop will be supervised by Justin DiCioccio, head of the Manhattan School of Music.
